First aid training

First aid for paraglider pilots

Practical courses designed for the situations you could face on the hill.

Ready to respond

First aid knowledge for every pilot

If you fly enough, you will see an accident or be involved in a paragliding incident at some point. Whether you are an instructor, coach, tandem pilot or someone who flies regularly, you may well be the first responder.

At BTC, we believe every pilot should have some first aid knowledge. Our courses are designed specifically for paraglider pilots, with a focus on managing the scene on the hill, falls from height, and associated head and spinal injuries.

Both courses are nationally recognised and accredited through the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. They follow Resuscitation Council UK guidelines and current HSE guidance on meeting the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981.

Practical training

First on the scene

From flying into a bush or getting dragged on launch to a fall from height or a mid-air collision, the situation you face on the hill may look very different from a classroom exercise.

Our FAW course includes an afternoon of realistic paragliding scenarios, complete with actors and fake blood. It is a chance to put scene management and lifesaving skills into practice.
