Information we collect and why

When you contact us or submit an order request, we collect your name, email address, any telephone number you provide, and your message or order details. Your name and email help us respond; telephone numbers are optional. Hosting and security services also process technical information, including IP addresses and browser details.

We use this information to answer enquiries, arrange products and services, maintain necessary business records and protect the website. Our legal bases are taking steps towards or performing a contract, our legitimate interests in handling general enquiries and maintaining security, and complying with applicable legal obligations.

The shop accepts order requests; it does not collect payment-card details.

Service providers

Cloudflare provides hosting, data storage and Turnstile spam protection. SMTP2GO delivers enquiry and order emails. These providers process information needed to perform those services.

Where information is processed outside the UK, our providers use appropriate safeguards for international transfers in accordance with UK data protection law. You can contact us for further information. Read more about Cloudflare’s data protection arrangements and SMTP2GO’s privacy practices.

How long we keep information

We retain closed enquiries and unsuccessful order requests for up to 12 months after closure. Core accounting records for completed orders are retained for six years from the end of the relevant company financial year.

Records may be kept longer where necessary for ongoing work, legal requirements or a specific dispute or insurance claim. Information no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.

Cookies and browser storage

We use essential cookies and browser storage for the basket, order confirmation, administrator login and website security. We do not use advertising or visitor analytics cookies.

Saved baskets contain product selections and quantities, without your contact details. They expire 14 days after the last basket change and are cleared when you next use the site. Temporary order information lasts for the browser-tab session; administrator login cookies last up to eight hours. Cloudflare explains its security processing here.

This storage is used for those functions rather than optional tracking, so there is no cookie preferences panel. You can clear site storage in your browser; doing so clears your saved basket.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or transfer of your information.

You can also object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
